Melissa T. Billig's legal practice encompasses all aspects of construction litigation. She represents owners (commercial and residential), developers, architects, engineers, construction managers and contractors in the design and construction process. She drafts and negotiates design and construction agreements, as well as license (access) agreements. Melissa litigates multi-party contract disputes and defective design and construction claims. She has extensive experience in the resolution of construction disputes, both prior to and during litigation and alternate dispute resolution, and in counseling clients regarding all legal aspects of their businesses.

Melissa has represented clients in conjunction with small and large scale development projects, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion and renovation, the Governors Island Park project, the Culture Shed project and the World Trade Center Disaster Site.  She also represents entertainment industry clients in connection with private residential renovations. 

Prior to joining Ingram in 2003, Melissa was an associate at Wilson Elser.  She has been consistently selected to Super Lawyers (Metro Super Lawyers and Judicial Division) multiple years and has been awarded AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest attorney rating available. 

Melissa is an active Member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Architecture and is involved in various committees including the Development and Marketing committees.
