Cory L. Weiss focuses his practice on all aspects of the landlord-tenant relationship, with special emphasis on landlord-tenant litigation and rent regulatory law. He has represented major owners and developers regarding a vast array of real estate and leasing disputes, including applications for certificates of non-harassment, commercial and complex residential leasing disputes, Yellowstone injunctions and declaratory judgment actions, co-op/condo litigation, administrative matters before the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, the New York City Environmental Control Board, and the New York City Department of Buildings and landlord debtor disputes in the bankruptcy court.


Other matters include, mortgage foreclosure proceedings, and labor union disputes. He has tried numerous proceedings in both New York Housing and Supreme courts, and has successfully argued appeals before New York Appellate courts.


Cory has also worked closely with owners and developers seeking to assemble property for substantial renovation and demolition, and has offered advice to landlords on such diverse issues as lead-paint abatement, high-income deregulation, demolition, owner occupancy, succession rights and non-primary residence.


Prior to joining Ingram, Cory was staff counsel to The Macklowe Organization, general counsel to the Parkoff Organization, and an associate at Finkelstein Borah Schwartz Altschuler & Goldstein; Abrams Lerner Kisseloff Kissin & Lapidus; and Tenzer Greenblatt.
